The traveling season is almost ready to begin! My first stop, the 2:1 Conference in Virginia.
Since I work for a homeschool publisher, blog about homeschooling, and homeschool my own kids this conference represents all of my favorite things.
At 2:1 Conference you will find me wearing 2 hats.
Most of the time I will have my Bright Ideas Press hat on. Right now I am getting some great swag items together cause I know how much bloggers love their swag bags. Mainly I will be available at the Bright Ideas booth to answer any questions about Mystery of History, Illuminations, or All American history. Come find me! I may have some chocolate goodies to share.
My other hat I will be wearing, blogger at Layered Soul.
Those lovely ladies at 2:1 requested that we answer some questions about ourselves as a way to get to know each other.
- How long have you been blogging and homeschooling? Which do you think is harder?
I have been blogging for 15 months and homeschooling for 13 years. I really only find blogging hard when I can’t get a plugin to work or I am trying to learn something new like SEO. Homeschooling is only hard when I am trying to find a may to help my struggling learners or when I feel like I am failing in meeting everyone’s needs.
- If you were a superhero, what would be your homeschool super power?
The Lesson Planning and Paper Grading Ninja. I would just love to sneak in during the night and get all lessons planned and papers graded with a swing of my mighty red pen.
- If you could go anywhere, besides 2:1 Conference, where would your dream “mom-cation” be located?
I would love 24 hours at a bed and breakfast near the mountains with a fireplace and the complete series of Downton Abbey to watch. Yeah I still haven’t seen an episode.
- What do you hope to “get out” of the 2:1 Conference?
I have the big picture on how to blog and I really love learning the details of how to make the blog better; My favorite is meeting and hearing the stories of the other bloggers that attend.

That is a great superhero – love it!
Can’t wait to have an actual conversation again, Stacey, instead of waving at each other in the parking lot! Looking forward!
Yeah! A moment to talk
I can’t wait!
It will be fun to see each other in a new location (and no chem experiments…)!
